Made in the United States of America

To some furniture and mattresses made in the U.S.A. doesn't matter, to us at Thompson Furniture and Mattress it's a huge deal. We make it a point to offer quality furniture and mattresses made in The United States of America specifically in Indiana, Ohio, and North Carolina among others. Made in America means many different things, but to us it means better quality furniture and mattresses and it puts America to work.

Our industry has moved production facilities to Mexico, China, and Vietnam among many others to save money on production costs. These moves might have saved them money, but the quality of their products has decreased significantly. Consumers can no longer purchase based off of brand names.

Thompson Furniture and Mattress in Columbus, Indiana offers the best quality domestically made furniture and mattresses at many different prices so everyone can get the furniture and mattresses they deserve. Below is a description of the brands that we offer. Our staff is always available to help you in any way possible. We appreciate you wanting to buy furniture and mattresses that are made in the United States of America!

Furniture made in the United States of America

Smith Brothers of Berne-Made in Berne, Indiana

Smith Brothers is owned and operated in the town of Berne, Indiana-the same place we've been since we opened for business in 1926.

Unfortunately, there has been a trend in recent years for furniture manufacturers to outsource their production to other countries such as China, where labor is much less expensive. They believe that's the best way to do business. We don't see it that way.

Here's why.

We Care About Our Community

Smith Brothers' founders knew it a hundred years ago, and we still know it today: the people of Berne and the surrounding area are hardworking and dedicated, and they're the reason we've been successful.

We Care About Our Products

From engineering and product development through actually building and upholstering, cleaning, and finally delivering furniture, we are focused on quality. We believe our work is too important, and requires too much talent, skill, and dedication at every step, to trust it to be done to our standards by a bottom-dollar workforce in another country.

We Care About Our Selection

Manufacturing overseas means that the product blueprints have to be simple-a handful of options may be allowed, but anything more complex is simply not feasible. Overseas production is about cutting costs, and that's it.

When you choose Smith Brothers, every last detail is up to you to decide, from our hundreds of fabrics and over 80 leather options, to the various pillows, nail head, welt cords, fringe, and wood finishes. You can even build a fabric collage of your own design, or provide your own fabric! If you can dream it, chances are we can build it.

We Care About Our Customers

We want you to be as happy with your furniture as we are, and that means:

  • Building it right. Our people take years of training and practice to reach the level of consistency that we know you expect. This work environment is not something you can cultivate if your goal is to find the cheapest labor in the world.
  • Inspecting it right. Our people are dedicated to quality, and we spend almost as much time inspecting, cleaning, and perfecting finished pieces as we do building them. When furniture goes out the door, we've made sure that all the edges line up, all the dangling threads are trimmed, and there are no lumps, bumps, or empty spaces in the upholstery.
  • Shipping it right. Our furniture is hand-wrapped in quilts, hand-packed on the feet and not on the sides, and shipped by our own fleet of trucks. We want to make sure that it reaches your living room in the same condition as when it left our floor.
  • Getting it to you quickly. We ship finished goods in four to six weeks, whereas product from China is crated and freighted across the Pacific and takes two to three months.

Hancock & Moore has been making masterpieces since 1981 when master craftsman Jimmy Moore turned his lifetime passion for furniture making into a legacy. Jimmy grew up learning the skills of an artisan, turning wood into beautiful, heirloom furniture. He spent hours hand-carving, sanding, sewing, and upholstering exclusive pieces using this time-honored approach.

To this day, up to 80 hours are spent handcrafting a piece of Hancock & Moore furniture. Every sofa, game chair and bench bares the signature of the artisan that created it, reflecting the hard day's work that went into its construction. To Hancock & Moore, custom-made furniture is the purest form of self-expression. Berlin Gardens-Berlin, OH

Our Story. An American company, Berlin Gardens was established in 1988 by founder Atlee Raber in Berlin, Ohio. With a vision of serving the desire among consumers to take life outdoors, the company began manufacturing wood gazebos and furniture. As outdoor living gained popularity and the company grew, poly lumber (made from recycled high density polyethylene) was being developed as the perfect material to craft into fine outdoor furniture. The first Berlin Gardens collections made from poly lumber were launched in 2002.

Berlin Gardens, 2014. Under current owner Sam Yoder we have firmly established our presence as a leading manufacturer of outdoor living products. Berlin Gardens' strong focus on quality, service, design and respect for the environment makes it a recognized brand the most demanding consumers are choosing with confidence. Each piece of our furniture is made with great care by skilled Amish craftsmen using only the highest quality recycled materials.

At Berlin Gardens our vision is to inspire and renew people around the world by leading the way in outdoor comfort. To achieve this goal, we manufacture beautiful and comfortable products that people can use to rejuvenate outdoors in God's creation. While we are committed to providing exceptional outdoor living products, we have an even higher goal: our first priority is to bring honor and glory to God in all we do, and to develop leaders. We believe that salvation through Jesus Christ is truly the focal point of this life. Because of that we've made it the foundation for everything we do at Berlin Gardens.

Tempur Pedic- Lexington, KY

We believe everyone deserves a great night's sleep

We're passionate about better sleep. It's what drove the original "Swedish scientists" who spent years perfecting a NASA invention into TEMPUR material. It's the force that guided our founder, who wanted to make TEMPUR mattresses available to people in the U.S. and across the globe. And it is the passion that drives us today, as we create new and better sleep products that continue to change the way the world sleeps.

We build quality products

We're passionate about controlling the quality of our products. So passionate that we built two state-of-the-art production plants, one in Duffield, Virginia and another in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We control our own production lines, so we can ensure that the mattresses and pillows we produce are of the highest quality.

We're not afraid to blaze a new trail

We're passionate about doing things the right way, even if we upset the status quo. We completely did away with traditional springs in our mattresses in favor of a radical new material that was completely unknown at the time. We work hard to ensure our pricing is consistent no matter where you buy, so you're not pressured to buy only for a cheap price. We warranty all of our larger products because it's the right thing to do (and because we know they'll last a long time).

We want our customers to be satisfied

We're passionate about a great delivery experience. When customers order a mattress and foundation or Ergo adjustable base, they all receive our White Glove Delivery Service. We deliver the mattress, set it up, and even take away the old mattress.*

We're passionate about the right mattress fit. We offer both a website and Sleep Experts to help you select the right product. And we offer our 90 Night Tryout, which helps assure you'll be happy with the mattress you bought direct from us.

We're passionate about the durability of our products. That's why we offer warranties on all of our larger products-many unheard of in the industry. A 10 year limited warranty on mattresses and Ergo adjustable bases. A 3 year limited warranty on pillows and cushions. Even a 1 year limited warranty on bed linens.** We stand behind our products.

Jensen Leisure

Jensen Leisure Furniture produces heirloom furniture that will be handed down through generations. Our specifications ensure that your furniture will endure the extremities of nature and repeated sittings throughout a lifetime of reading, dining, and gardenside solitude. Longevity begins with the quality of our timber.

The Ipe timber that goes into Jensen Leisure Furniture is certified by Rainforest Alliance as 100% FSC Pure. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification is the global "gold standard" in independent, third-party forest certification. It guarantees that the wood contained in our furniture comes from well-managed forests. The FSC logo and "Chain of Custody" number branded on Jensen products allows you to track the wood back to the forest where it originated.

Our Ipe timber comes from the Chiquitania tropical dry forests of Bolivia. Because of the nature of these forests, trees grow very slowly, producing some of the world's strongest and most durable timber species. Our trees are allowed to grow to over 100 years old before being carefully harvested.
